Web Standards
This site has been developed to comply with W3C web standards. XHTML is used for structure and CSS Stylesheets are used for the presentation and layout.
Access Keys
Pages have been marked up to comply with WAI Content Accessibility Guidelines. The following access keys are available.
Keyboard shortcuts or “Access Keys” can be used to navigate the main sections of this site. On a PC, you can press ALT + an access key, on a Mac, you can press CTRL + an access key.
An underline is used as a visual indication of available Access Keys, for example:

- Please note the underlined “I” this indicates the keyboard shortcut alt+i can be used to navigate to the introduction.

You can also use the Tab key to move through links on the page, shift+Tab can be used to cycle back through the links.
Text Sizing
Text has been set so that it can be easily resized, Instructions for most modern browsers follow:
- Internet Explorer 5, 5.5, 6 (PC): view > text size
- Internet Explorer 5 (Mac): view > text zoom
- Netscape 6, 7, Mozilla: view > text zoom
- Opera 7: view > zoom
- Safari (Mac): View > Make Text Bigger
- Firefox: View > Increase Text Size
You can also use the “Text Size” switch available in the left hand navigation menu on this page.
Printing Webpages
All chapters and Case Studies are available for download in Adobe PDF format. PDF files can be easily printed using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software.
To download PDF files please use the links at the top right of the page at the start of each chapter. The PDF icon (displayed to the right above) is used to draw your attention to the presence of PDF files.
